Personal Statement

As the youngest of six brothers, I learned early that nothing is given, and almost everything can be made into a competition. Whether it was throwing a Nerf football in the basement or snowboarding down the steepest terrain, I spent my childhood trying to keep up with older, stronger competition. That environment built my mental toughness, adaptability, and relentless drive to improve. On the field, my coaches would describe me as a high-IQ player. I take pride in reading offensive and defensive schemes quickly and making the right decisions under pressure. As a two-way midfielder, I excel on the defensive end, I’m physical, disciplined, and can match up against top players. Being someone coaches and teammates can trust in multiple roles is what defines my versatility as a player. This season playing a lot on the offensive side for my high school team has sharpened my ability to contribute on that end as well. I'm a vocal leader, helping direct teammates into position and communicating throughout the game. Whether it's taking extra reps after practice, watching film, or getting feedback from coaches and my brothers, I'm always willing to do the work to get an edge. Off the field, I bring the same approach to life. Growing up in a close, competitive family taught me resilience, how to hold myself accountable, and to make the people around me better- and that's exactly the kind of teammate and person I want to be in a college program.
